Client: Bundestheaterholding

The management office corridor of the Bundestheater-Holding building was refurbished by podpod design in 2008, which led to the installation of a new lighting system that is an integral part of the interior design concept.

Large and bright ceramic floor panels are structural by grey, transverse stripes that are each reflected in the ceiling plan with a corresponding overlying niche.

Orientable recessed spotlights are mounted in these niches.

Lighting intensity levels

For reason of energy efficiency, three lighting intensity levels are employed:

everyday, festive for special occasions and nocturnal.

Colours

Since the corridor has little daylight, bright and freindly hues were chosen for all surfaces; some walls feature vibrant red accents.

Mood

The design transformed a rather claustrophobic corridor into an environment that is a reminiscent of a stroll through Venice.
